These are the murals inside the Kayavarohan temple in Gujarat, India. It is the living record of a yoga master's spiritual practice. The temple took 300 workers 30 years to build. Even for India, it is extraordinary in its construction, detail and carvings.
India is a country with 1500 languages and dialects. This meant that a yoga master would pass along information to suceeding generations in an iconographic record. Through the iconograpghic record, he can speak to us today. Through pictures, symbols and images, Swami Kripalu left many important clues as to how his sadhana (spiritual practice) evolved and what happened during his remarkable transformation. For many people, these may just be inspiring pictures. For a few, this may provide invaluable insight into the various milestones along the way. I have been looking at these images for seven years now, and they have continued to provide both guidance and confirmation. These are low resolution files.
