This is a transitional moment during a moving practice called "Prayer Breath." From a standing position, on the inhale, you press your feet into the earth and sweep the hands out to the side and over head. Watch the palms come together. Exhale and with laser like attention your eyes focus on the thumbnails as you draw the hands down.

This opening breathing sequence does many things. It lengthens the spine and opens the rib cage and breath. Breath, mind and movement are synchronized. It makes for a very good beginning because you are gathering in strength, pulling in focus and it is a very friendly way into being present every moment.

When the eyes are steady, the mind becomes steady.
The eyes are the outward extension of the brain.
Where they move activates different parts of the brain.
