"Tom's classes are great fun. He offers a very new approach to Vinyasa yoga that's approachable and thoughtful."

Tim Eustis

Question: I came 15 minutes before class and the lights were off and the doors were locked. I left because I assumed there was no class. What happened?

Answer: People were resting in "shavasana" (the resting pose) and we turn the lights off. Lights come on when class is finished.

Question: Does the 295-5002 number ring at the Yoga studio? Do you have a studio in North Kingstown?

Answer: No and no. That is Tom's home office. It does not ring at the Eyes of the World Yoga Center in Providence.

Question: Is the studio open in the afternoons? Can we come by and look?

Answer: Most afternoons we are closed. see schedule. We are open before and after class hours. If you want to pick up a gift certificate, yoga mat or lost item. Come just before or after class times.

Class Card Policies

  • A "12 Class card in 12 weeks" means that you must finish your next 11 classes within a 12 week period in order to get the discount. When you get a card, you are making a commitment to yourself. This style of yoga works best when you get momentum going and practice many times a week. You can come 2, 3 or 4 times a week if you like; the studio is large and there is no preregistration. We don't recommend coming to yoga once a month. Once a week is usually the minimum for it to work in your life.
  • Don't lose your card. It is your responsibility. Carry your class card with you to all classes. Get a "yoga mat bag" and keep your card in it. We don't recommend that you keep your card in your wallet or purse. Keep your card with your yoga mat. You can usually purchase unique, extraordianily beautiful, high quality yoga mat bags at the studio. Best to buy a yoga mat bag that has a pocket for your class card.
  • "Forgotten Card" If you forget your card, then you need to pay the dropin price that day.
  • Class cards are nonrefundable and nontransferrable to other students.

These yoga mat bags that I found on the web are good, but our yoga mat bags are much better. We have a wide range of mat bags at different prices depending on the materials and time involved.

Happy Hallway Policies

  • Practice the yoga of relationship. With a little peace, love and understanding, everything works out well.
  • We share the inside hallway with many prestigious businesses. Please respect this common space.
  • The studio door opens 15 minutes before class. If you come earlier than that, please wait outside on the sidewalk. (Enjoy the outdoors. Do your breathing practices. You get to be with all these somewhat *enlightened yogis in the fresh air. Make friends. Smile.)
  • We ask that you do not wait inside the hallway because the hallway is very small. (Yoga classes are very popular and sometimes there are 30 or 40 happy, smiling yoga students. The other businesses need their clients to pass through the hallway.)
  • We have changing rooms and a bathroom inside the yoga studio. Please use them.
  • After class, please don't put your shoes on in the hallway and please don't change your clothes in the hallway. Please respect the high level of decorum of this beautiful building.
  • Do not go upstairs and use those businesses bathrooms.
  • *(Realize that the teacher is only somewhat enlightened. Once the doors open, the teacher could be frazzled with dozens of questions simultaneously hurled at them. Take heart. Don't judge the hell out of the teacher. Have a good laugh with the teacher observing them during what might be an unenlightened moment. Of course, these unenlightened moments are very rare.)

Work Exchange Positions Available:
A few work exchange positions are available to students who have established yoga practices and need financial assistance. Preference given to current students at Eyes of the World. Not available to beginners.

Snow Day? Check website one hour before class to find out if it is canceled. We usually never cancel unless there is a city wide parking ban. This happens. We are usually always open even when schools and other businsesses are closed. Snowy days often turn out to be very special classes with fewer students. Snow is very peaceful and meditative, very conducive for yoga. Put on your boots, drive slow and come out, dear Rhode Islander.

Refunds for Workshops? If notified within 7 days of program. Otherwise, no refund.
