Vision followed closely
by invention. "What makes vinyasa so satisfying is when it has a beautiful mind inside." Shiva Rea What Shiva Rea meant by "beautiful mind" is the moment when certain movements are put together in a novel way and it uncovers an internal connection that makes extraordinary good sense. Something new is found that wasn't there before, with a logic all its own, called "A beautiful mind." |

Many of my yoga classes are now being recorded and burned on to CDs. Keep watching this site. Once in a while a beautiful mind emerges.
What you will find on these CDS: Laughs, poetic language, deep insights, a spiritual vibe, new connections, fascinating postures and variations not found anywhere in world, and once in a while, street wise iambic pentameter. For nearly the price of a dropin class, you will be able to have some inspiration in your mailbox every month. New movements: Flamingo Vinyasa, Handstand Vinyasa, Uttitha Hasta Vinyasa, Diddly Squat Vinyasa, Spinning Pigeon Sequence... Titles of upcoming CDS: 1. The Wave 2. Ten Stones 3. The Embryo 4. Giving it all away 5. Drop the theories. Drop the yoga head. 6. Moment to moment 7. Flashlight 8. Three Soft Palate meditations There will be reviews of what each CD has on it. The reviews will include six ratings:1) a laugh rating, 2) poetic language rating, 3) insight/ depth rating, 4) tempo/ speed (aerobic) rating usually low, 5) long holding of posture rating, and 6) Metaphor Meter. There will be four categories for whom the CD might be good for. 1) B = Beginner, 2) SA = Some Alignment Experience, 3) I = Intermediate, 4) HALAHALA = Half Lotus, Lotus, Handstand, Hanuman and beyond people. I don't consider anything I do "advanced" in terms of physicality. I am only interested in what serves meditation. Cirque de Soliel is fun, but pretty exclusionary ( it excludes my body) and not absolutely necessary for awakening non-ordinary states of awareness and the development of consciousness. This is more of a Middle Path. The internal meditative piece, while derivitive from many sources, is unique and I don't think you will find this kind of material anywhere else. It has a heavy dose of Vipassana and recent brain research threaded through it. |
